Prue Metcalfe

Hi everyone,

My name is Prue Metcalfe. I'm a Year One Teacher at Mary Help of Christians School, Sawtell
I've been teaching for four years and have been at Mary Help for the past two years. Prior to that I lived and taught in London.
On Sunday, I will be travelling to Sydney with three other teachers to spend time visiting and learning at
St Joseph's Primary, Cronulla for the week.
There are several aims and learnings I hope to take away from this Teacher Placement:
  • CLF - is there anything similar or reflected in the practice of the school.
  • Data - what is being used and how does it inform decision making within the whole school and for individual year groups.
  • ICT - what is being used and how (especially in the younger years).
  • Student learning goals - how these are developed, achieved, reflected on, celebrated?
  • PLT/PLC - which principles are evident within their school.
  • Collaborative planning/teaching
  • Engagement - New ideas that could be adopted to use within my own classroom and school.

I'm really excited about this opportunity. I look forward to sharing the learning, ideas and resources as the week goes by and in the future.
